First Wsop 2020 Online Main Event Flights Begin
Another week of the WSOP 2020 Online is in the poker history books. Last week’s update provided the tournament and winner details through Event 53 of the international events as played on Natural8 and other GGPoker Network skins.
As of this posting, the results are in through Event 61.
Excitement also increased today as the first flight for the WSOP Main Event got underway. The flights require buy-ins of $5K, though there are obviously many ways to win via satellites and qualifiers. It is also not a freezeout, so players have more than one opportunity to buy in. Day 2 of the tournament, which boasts of a $25 million prize pool guarantee, is set for August 30.
To kick things off, famous Australian poker pro and 2019 WSOP Player of the Year Rob Campbell gave the “shuffle up and deal” command via a short video message.

In the past week, no new players from the Asia-Pacific region won WSOP events, which means that these players remain the only ones from the region to win thus far:

Event 54: $10K NLHE Heads-Up Championship
- Total entries: 128 (capped at 128)
- Prize pool: $1,241,600
- Paid players: 16 (minimum payout = $24,832)
- Winner: David Peters (US) $360,480
Aussie Michael Addamo just missed this bracelet as he finished second to David Peters. Alyssa MacDonald of Canada and Chi Zhang of the UK finished just missed the final.
Event 55: HK$8K NLHE Asia Championship
- Total entries: 3,247
- Prize pool: $3,208,036
- Paid players: 404 (minimum payout = $2,503)
- Winner: Luis “Xamilskinha” Assuncao Garla (Brazil) $461,709
This event was scheduled for a time most convenient to players in the Asia-Pacific region, but a Brazilian took it down. Others at the final table represented Greece, India, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Spain, and the United States.
Event 56: $2,100 NLHE Bounty Championship
- Total entries: 1,168
- Prize pool: $2,336,000
- Paid players: 170 (minimum payout = $2,258)
- Winner: Enrico “GTOExploiter” Camosci (Italy) $327,319 ($184,579 + $142,740 in bounties)
The Italian won his first bracelet and accumulated approximately three times the bounties as any competitor. Meanwhile, he defeated players from Turkey, Finland, Russia, Brazil, Poland, Argentina, and the US at the final table.
Event 51: $1,500 NLHE High Roller GGMasters WSOP Edition
- Total entries: 2,153
- Prize pool: $3,068,025
- Paid players: 314 (minimum payout = $3,145)
- Winner: Seth “AbeFroman” Fischer (US) $444,869
Three players from Lithuania made the final table, as well as two from France, one from Russia, one from Canada, and one from Israel.
Event 57: $150 NLHE GGMasters WSOP Edition
- Total entries: 9,835
- Prize pool: $1,357,230
- Paid players: 1,232 (minimum payout = $343)
- Winner: Anatoly “Pahitrusha” Suvarov (Russia) $183,526
As a very cheap option for WSOP players, this attracted nearly 10,000 players. And in the end, a Russian player won by beating competitors at the final table from Chile, Norway, Dominica, Canada, Andorra, Germany, and Japan.
Event 58: $5K NLHE 6-Handed Championship
- Total entries: 672
- Prize pool: $3,192,000
- Paid players: 98 (minimum payout = $10,721)
- Winner: Ravid “jerbi9999” Garbi (Israel) $531,513
Event 37 winner Hun Wei Lee of Australia just missed this final table by two spots. Other countries represented at that table, however, were the UK, Norway, Estonia, and Kazakhstan.
Event 59: $2,500 NLHE Double Stack
- Total entries: 1,061
- Prize pool: $2,519,875
- Paid players: 152 (minimum payout = $5,478)
- Winner: Leonardo “Babaehduro” Mattos (Brazil) $399,047
Players from Austria, Israel, Croatia, Canada, and the UK joined several Brazilians at this final table.
Event 60: $525 NLHE 6-Handed Bounty
- Total entries: 3,170
- Prize pool: $1,585,000
- Paid players: 368 (minimum payout = $680)
- Winner: Orhan “yirtil” Ates (Turkey) $94,253
Ates claimed the first WSOP in the series’ history for Turkey, and he did it by surpassing players from Austria, Lithuania, France, Brazil, and India at the final table.
Event 61: $300 NLHE 6-Handed Monster Stack
- Total entries: 3,491
- Prize pool: $973,989
- Paid players: 440 (minimum payout = $697)
- Winner: Alexander “Mighty Warior” Stacey (UK) $127,660
Timed especially for the convenience of players in the Asia time zone, it again didn’t actually matter to most players at the final table. A UK player took it down, and players from the US, Finland, France, and China finished at the final table.
